City of Great Falls announces New Year’s Day closures for municipal offices and facilities

City of Great Falls offices, including the Public Library, Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation Center, Municipal Court, and Animal Shelter, will be closed on January 1 in observance of New Year’s Day. These facilities will reopen on January 2. According to the city’s announcement, “Great Falls, Montana – The City of Great Falls offices, Great Falls Public Library, Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation Center, Great Falls Municipal Court, and the Great Falls Animal Shelter will be closed on January 1st for New Year’s Day and will reopen on January 2nd. City residential and commercial sanitation collection will not operate on January 1st. Sanitation services will be delayed by one day following the holiday, only during the remaining days of that calendar week. Services will be back to normal the following week.”

The Public Library, Recreation Center, and Animal Shelter are also scheduled to close early at 3:00pm on December 31.

Sanitation collection services for both residential and commercial customers will not take place on New Year’s Day. Collection is expected to resume with a one-day delay for the remainder of that week before returning to regular scheduling.
