Great Falls appoints Jeremy M. Jones as deputy city manager

Great Falls City Manager Greg Doyon has announced the appointment of Jeremy M. Jones as the new Deputy City Manager for the City of Great Falls, Montana. Jones brings more than 20 years of public service experience, most recently serving as Fire Chief for Great Falls Fire Rescue since October 2020.

During his tenure as Fire Chief, Jones led the department through advancements in emergency response and public safety, focusing on operational efficiency and collaboration with agencies at various levels. His work contributed to building partnerships and enhancing community resilience.

“Jeremy’s proven leadership, collaborative spirit, deep understanding of the community and City operations make him an outstanding choice for Deputy City Manager,” said City Manager Greg Doyon. “He has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, innovation, and public service that aligns perfectly with the City’s mission and values.”

In his new role, Jones will support the City’s Executive Team and elected officials under the direction of the City Manager. The Deputy City Manager oversees several departments including the City Clerk’s Office, Great Falls Animal Shelter, Civic Center Events, and Neighborhood Council Liaison. The position also involves managing strategic initiatives and assisting with daily city operations.

Jones holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Montana State University-Billings with an emphasis in Communications and Business Management. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Montana and is a graduate of Leadership Montana’s Class of 2024.

“I am honored to step into this new role and continue serving the City of Great Falls in a broader capacity,” said Jones. “I look forward to working with our talented team to build on our successes and shape a vibrant future for our community.”

The transition is expected to take place within thirty days.
