Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 1309 2nd Avenue North on April 15, where all occupants evacuated safely and several pets were rescued from the home.

According to Great Falls Fire Rescue, crews arrived shortly after receiving a report of a structure fire around 6:39 p.m. Engine 1 found smoke and flames coming from the second floor. “All occupants had safely evacuated prior to firefighters’ arrival,” said officials in a statement. Firefighters learned that multiple pets remained inside, prompting an immediate search and rescue operation by Engine 4. Several pets were located and removed safely from the building.
Firefighters used an exterior attack through a bedroom window before moving inside to fully extinguish the blaze. The bedroom sustained significant damage, with smoke affecting much of the second floor and additional damage occurring outside due to suppression efforts. The cause was determined to be electrical in nature.
