Lights Wrestling Push Seven Athletes into Day 2 at the CCC Tournament

The first day of NAIA Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships wrapped-up Friday afternoon on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. The Lights have seven athletes heading into the second day (Wilkie, Harris, Crawford, Siegel, Burns, Vanek, Hansen). Wilkie, Siegel, Burns, Hansen will compete in the Semi-final tomorrow.

Menlo College is in the lead after the first day with 72.5 points. Eastern Oregon University is next with 54.5 points. Montana State University-Northern is in the middle of the pack at five with 42.5 points.

125- Tanner Cook lost in his first match against Riley Siason (MCC) by a major decision 12-3. Cook beat Albert Ambriz (ACUA) by a major decision 9-1. He lost in sudden victory 3-1 against Landon Smith (ERAU).

133- Cooper Cook fell to Gulomjon Abdullaev (MCC) by a tech fall 18-0. Cook lost out against Luis Saucedo by a decision 10-3.

133- Brennon McDermott beat Zach Mauras (EOUO) in his first match by a decision 6-2. He lost his second match to Evan Potter (SOUO) by a tech fall 16-0. McDermott lost out by a close decision 6-4 against Colby Evens (ERAU).

141- Colin Silverthorn dropped to Blake Runion (CUO) by a fall 1:01. He lost his second match to Jaxon Morlan by a fall 3:27.

149- Martin Wilkie won by a major decision 10-0 against Chad Muenzer (EOUO). Wilkie won by a tech fall 15-0 (7:00) against Ricardo Valdez (VUC) to push into the semi-finals.

157- Connor Harris lost by a fall 4:22 by Abraham Del Toro (MCC). Harris pinned Jaden Madding to take his second match.

165- Devin Crawford lost his first match against Jordan Komac (UP) by a decision 4-3. He bounced back by pinning Davion Barnes (ACUA).

  

174- NaKoda Siegel dominated against Ian Vasquez (WARN) by a tech fall 16-1. Siegel pushed past Anthony Aguilera (ACUA) with a fall 5:59 to head to the Semi-finals.

174- Rylin Burns won his first match against Matthew Barlett (CUO) by a major decision 9-0 to head to the Semi-finals.

184- Austin Vanek lost his first match in a sudden victory 5-3 against Isaiah Morales (MCC). He won his next match against Kabb Christensen (SOUO) by a fall 2:03.

197- Carl Hansen dominated his first match against Isaiah Hernandez (VUC) by a major decision 17-7. He won his next match by a decision 8-1 against Brodie Scott (ERAU) to pushed into the Semi-finals.

285- Rylan Moldehauer lost his first match against Jacob Vincent (SUC) by a fall 4:54. He lost his next match to Antonio Garcia (SOUO) by a decision 5-2.
