Neighborhood Council #5’s (NC#5) monthly meeting is hosted on Monday, June 19, at 7:00 pm in the Great Falls Clinic Specialty Center Conference Room, 3000 15th Avenue South. Agenda items* include the annual ice cream social, candidate forum plans, and neighborhood concerns. Neighborhood Council #4’s (NC#4) monthly meeting occurs on Thursday, June 22, at 6:30 pm at the Heritage Baptist Church, 900 52nd Street North. Want to serve on a Neighborhood Council? Filing for the 2023 Municipal Elections closes June 19! There are nine neighborhood council districts within the City of Great Falls. Each district council is comprised of five members elected to a two-year term during the City’s general election on November 7, 2023. Candidates for the neighborhood council must be residents of their designated neighborhood district and qualified electors. All newly elected officials will take office in January 2024. No filing fees are required, but a Declaration for Nomination and Oath of Candidacy Form must be submitted to the Cascade County Election Office by June 19, 2023.

A house fire at 1309 2nd Avenue North in Great Falls led residents and several pets to be rescued safely on April 15. Firefighters quickly contained an electrical blaze that caused significant damage but resulted in no injuries. Displaced occupants are receiving assistance from local agencies.

Registration remains open for Great Falls’ annual Ice Breaker Road Race taking place April 26. Organizers have announced road closures along with volunteer opportunities supporting this community event.
