City of Great Falls issued the following announcement on March 5.
On March 5, 2020, the City of Great Falls is hosting a Public Safety Town Hall – The Beginning of a Community Conversation in the Mansfield Theater from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The town hall will include a joint presentation by Great Falls Police Chief Dave Bowen and Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter. They will share information on the crime and public safety issues in Great Falls and Cascade County.
Following the presentation, representatives from social and legal agencies, which address many of the underlying issues that lead to criminal activity, will be introduced. After the introductions, written questions will be solicited from attendees. Chief Bowen and Sheriff Slaughter will then answer the publics' written questions.
Mayor Bob Kelly stated, “I think this will be an opportunity for the community to hear from our law enforcement professionals about the current state of criminal activity in Great Falls and Cascade County. We will also have representation from the many agencies in town who are working everyday with the root causes of violence, drug abuse, and theft. My hope is that we will begin a broad conversation designed to understand the issues and how each of us can play a part in making our community a safer place for all.”
