U.S. Senator Steve Daines has strongly criticized Senate Democrats for their decision to block a full trial into the impeachment of President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Daines expressed his concerns about the current situation at the southern border, emphasizing the national security implications of the ongoing crisis.

According to Senator Daines, "The crisis at our southern border is the number one issue for Americans today, and rightfully so. It’s no longer an immigration debate, it is a severe national security threat. Each month more and more illegals who are on the FBI’s terror watch list stream across the border, with many coming from nations designated by President Biden’s own State Department as state sponsors of terrorism."

Daines further criticized the Senate Democrats' decision, stating, "And yet today Senate Democrats chose to sweep this crisis under the rug, ignore the Senate’s constitutional duty and deny the American people a trial into the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas. Every Senate Democrat proved that they would rather turn a blind eye to the failures of President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas than hold them accountable for endangering the safety of the American people."

In conclusion, Senator Daines highlighted the need for transparency and accountability from the Administration regarding the southern border crisis, stating, "Montanans deserve transparency and accountability from this Administration for its disastrous role in the wide-open southern border crisis."
