U.S. Senators Steve Daines, Angus King, Kevin Cramer, and Mark Warner have introduced the "America the Beautiful Act" in an effort to reauthorize and increase funding for the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF). This legislation aims to address maintenance backlogs on public lands.

Senator Daines emphasized the importance of protecting national parks and managing public lands efficiently. He stated, "Our country is home to incredible national parks and public lands- that’s what makes us America the Beautiful. I’ll always fight to protect our parks and work to make sure we’re managing our public lands as efficiently as possible."

Senator King highlighted the global appeal of America's natural beauty but noted concerns over aging infrastructure. He said, "People travel from every corner of the world to connect with America’s incredible natural beauty... The bipartisan America the Beautiful Act protects our lands and the visitor experience — by addressing maintenance backlogs."

Senator Cramer reflected on past successes in North Dakota due to similar legislation: "The Great American Outdoors Act brought real results... Let’s keep this momentum going by passing the America the Beautiful Act."

Warner pointed out economic benefits tied to maintaining these natural resources: "Investing in our natural treasures is a no-brainer for our tourism economy and for future generations of Americans."

The bill seeks to extend LRF authorization through 2033 while gaining support from organizations like the National Park Foundation and National Parks Conservation Association.
