U.S. Senator Steve Daines appeared on Fox News to discuss several key topics, including the ceasefire in Gaza, President Trump's nominees, and the anticipated foreign policy direction under the incoming Trump administration with Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.

During his conversation with Sandra Smith, Daines commented on the recent Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal. He attributed this development to a combination of factors, including Prime Minister Netanyahu's pressure campaign against Hamas and Hezbollah, and President Trump's firm stance. "This is another example of peace through strength," Daines stated. He emphasized that the imminent inauguration of President Trump has prompted Hamas to act on a proposal that had been pending since May.

Regarding Trump's nominees, Daines expressed confidence in their success during hearings. "Trump’s nominees are batting a thousand," he remarked. He praised several candidates for their performance in committee hearings, highlighting Marco Rubio's suitability for Secretary of State due to his extensive experience on the Foreign Relations Committee. Daines also commended Pam Bondi and Chris Wright for their appearances before respective committees.

Daines further discussed the foreign policy outlook under Trump and Rubio's leadership. He drew parallels between current events and historical moments, such as the release of American hostages in Iran following President Reagan's election. "History repeats itself," he noted, expressing optimism about future U.S.-Middle East relations under a Republican-led government.

Daines concluded by referencing past achievements like the Abraham Accords and suggested that continued strength from U.S. leadership could lead to further diplomatic progress in the region.
