In Great Falls, Montana, police responded to reports of gunfire on the evening of April 9, 2025. Calls to emergency services began around 8:40 p.m., indicating gunshots near 11th Street South and 4th Avenue South.

Officers thoroughly investigated the incident throughout the night. Efforts included aerial surveillance with a drone, evidence collection, and interviews with witnesses and involved parties. The Cascade County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search for two juveniles linked to the event.

A teenage male, age 16, was confirmed to have sustained a minor foot injury, believed to be caused by a bullet. He received treatment at Benefis Emergency Department and was subsequently discharged. Additionally, law enforcement located two vehicles that received damage consistent with being struck by gunfire.

Authorities have established the identities of those involved and assessed that the event was isolated, rather than random, suggesting an internal conflict amongst a group of juveniles familiar with each other.

The investigation is ongoing. Local residents can expect a heightened police presence today as officers and detectives continue gathering information.

Amid community concerns, law enforcement acknowledged the unsettling nature of the incident. Future details may remain undisclosed due to the involvement of minors. The public is thanked for their patience and cooperation throughout the investigative process.
