The City of Great Falls has announced a temporary closure of 3rd Street South from Central Avenue to 1st Avenue South on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. The closure is scheduled to allow Public Works Utilities to prepare for an upcoming water main replacement and storm water main installation project set to begin in the spring.

During the closure, local access will be maintained as much as possible. The city stated that traffic barricades, signs, and flaggers will be present at the site throughout the work.

“If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Jake Mckenna, Utility Systems Manager, at 406-727-8045,” according to the press release.
