Volunteers Were Paged to a Report of a Wildland Fire East of Town

Volunteers were paged to a report of a wildland fire East of town. Responders found fire actively burning in stubble and straw windrows. Crews stopped the fire before it could reach several parked combines and the uncut grain. A tractor that had been parked nearby caught fire and suffered significant damage when the wind made a sudden shift prior to crews arriving on scene.

Thank you to the volunteers that responded and to the two Forest Service engines for the help.
