Public access to West Bank Park and the Rivers Edge Trail at the 4th St NE rail crossing in Great Falls, Montana, has been permanently closed. The City of Great Falls announced that this decision was made in agreement with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.

According to the city, the closure is intended to address public safety concerns related to a possible expansion of rail operations into the Calumet Refining area. This expansion is expected to result in increased rail traffic through the crossing.

Despite the closure at 4th St NE, members of the public can still access West Bank Park from 3rd Ave NW, located between Cowboys Bar and Tasty Hot Pot.

For further information about the closure, residents are encouraged to contact Calob Marquis with the City of Great Falls Engineering Division at 406-771-1258.
