BRADY: Lewis and Clark Festival.

Zz

Brady issued the following announcement on June 15.

This weekend of Rediscovery is your opportunity to experience an incredible journey through the weathered pages of the daily journals kept by Lewis and Clark; all shared with you through presentation, ceremony and guided experience. Demonstrations, exhibits, and other events of this week will touch you forever, as the history of this 200 year old adventure unfolds.

The Annual Lewis and Clark Festival highlights events of the Lewis & Clark expedition during their stay in Great Falls in 1805. You will observe reenactors in historic dress, taste the foods the Expedition ate, smell the burning campfires and understand the adventure along the banks of the Missouri River. Learn how the men worked and what they found.

Join us in exploring the Lewis and Clark adventure. Live the experience, with many events planned for you. Events include demonstrations, children's activities, exhibits, float trips and more.

Not only does this weekend promise an engaging display of history, but ties in an evening of Bluegrass music, offering fun for the whole family.

Join us in Gibson Park on Friday evening at the Band Shell to kick off the weekend with a concert.

Saturday will begin with a black powder opening and offer a variety of activities throughout the day from demonstrations and living history to live music and food. Take advantage of free admission and plan to spend the entire day (10-5) enjoying the park!

Sunday's festivities require registration in advance but promise to fill the day with an informative tour of the area's Lewis and Clark history. Guided tours of the Portage Route will be offered - the tours include transportation and lunch on Ryan Dam Island. Registration for this event is required in advance, the tour will depart at 10am sharp from the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Tickets: $75/person, or $135/couple.
