U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Ranking Member of the Senate National Parks Subcommittee, and Senator Gary Peters (D-Mich.) have successfully passed a bipartisan resolution designating June 2024 as “Great Outdoors Month” in the United States Senate.

"From fishing to hiking to skiing, Montana has something to offer everyone," said Daines. "I want to encourage folks across the country to partake in the beauty our national parks and public lands have to offer. Get outside and enjoy the great outdoors this month!"

Senator Peters emphasized Michigan's natural attractions, stating, "Michigan’s remarkable lakes and landscapes are enjoyed by both Michiganders and visitors who travel to our state for outdoor recreation opportunities. I’m proud that the Senate passed this resolution to encourage folks to spend time outdoors and to highlight the importance of preserving these natural treasures for future generations to enjoy."

The resolution aims to promote outdoor activities and underscore the significance of preserving natural environments for future enjoyment.
