Last night, the Great Falls Police Department conducted an alcohol compliance check involving 34 businesses within the city limits. The operation aimed to ensure that liquor license holders are preventing the sale of alcohol to individuals under 21 years old. This initiative is supported by STOP Act funds from Alliance for Youth Substance Abuse Prevention stakeholders.

Volunteers aged 19 or 20, possessing valid identification, participated in the operation by attempting to purchase alcohol at each establishment. Out of the 34 businesses checked, 28 passed while six failed, resulting in a success rate of 82%. This marks a decrease from the previous compliance check in April 2024, which had a success rate of 91%.

Businesses and employees who complied with regulations were commended for their efforts. However, those who sold alcohol to underage buyers received citations for violating MCA 16-3-301 (Unlawful Sales/Transfer to a Person under 21 years of age), classified as a misdemeanor.

The establishments found in violation include Albertson's at 414 3rd St NW, Heritage Inn/Max Casino at 1700 Fox Farm Rd, Keith's Country Store at 1621 10th Ave S, Flamingo at 3028 10th Ave S, Holiday West Casino at 1520 3rd St NW, and Loaf and Jug at 900 1st Ave N. Notably, this is Albertson's second consecutive violation.

The successful establishments included Aces Tavern on 900 8th Ave NW and Ike & Susans Casino on 3716 2nd Ave N among others.
