The Legislative Audit Committee took an in-depth look at financial compliance reports from the Department of Corrections, the Office of State Public Defender, the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and other state agencies to ensure public funding is being used in an effective and efficient manner, according to a state press release.
Members of the public were able to chime in and share their concerns during the public meeting that included an in-person meeting at the State Capitol.
Two follow-up audits called 'Oversight of State Agency Procurement Card Use,' and 'Governance Practices for Information Technology Investments,' were reviewed and the prioritization of projected information system audits were also discussed.
All public comments made during the meeting are considered public record and will be archived and available online, according to the state website. Commenters were urged to remain respectful and raise their hands until they were acknowledged by a meeting official.
