The City of Great Falls Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs are moving from the Planning and Community Development Department to the Finance Department on July 1, 2023. This organizational change does not change the programs that are offered through CDBG/HOME or the application cycles.

Through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Great Falls receives annual grants on a formula basis. These two annual grant programs are the CDBG Program and the HOME Program. These grants fund City programs and services and provide financing to area organizations and businesses. All grants are designed to provide important services to residents in Great Falls that make below 80 percent of the median income.

The City also offers a Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program that was established with CDBG funding.  The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program is targeted at bringing the City’s housing stock up to code to provide a safe and decent living environment for low-income residents.

For more information on any of the services and programs offered through the City’s federally funded grants please contact Tom Hazen, Grant Administrator, at (406) 455-8471 or visit https://greatfallsmt.net/finance and click on CDBG in the department menu.
