U.S. Senator Steve Daines spoke out against the Biden Administration's proposed regulations on Montana oil production, warning that they would lead to increased prices for both producers and consumers in the state. Daines stated, "President Biden will stop at nothing to appease the far-Left environmental groups who want to shut down domestic energy production, and the results are devastating to Montana’s small energy producers. We must put a stop to Biden’s heavy-handed regulations that are bad for our pocketbooks, America’s energy security and our national security."
Daines, along with Senator Roger Marshall and several other colleagues, introduced a Congressional Review Act (CRA) to challenge the administration's rule. The senators leading the opposition to the regulations include Lankford, Cruz, Blackburn, Lee, Lummis, Tim Scott, Sullivan, John Hoeven, Mullin, and Ricketts.
The proposed regulations have sparked concerns among Montana's energy industry, with fears that the increased regulatory burden would harm their operations and ultimately lead to price hikes for consumers. Daines and his fellow senators are pushing back against what they perceive as unnecessary and harmful interference in the state's oil production sector.
