U.S. Senator Steve Daines has announced the passage of his bipartisan legislation, the "Servicemembers’ Credit Monitoring Enhancement Act," in the U.S. Senate. This legislation aims to provide free credit monitoring services to all Montana armed service members, including those in the Reserves and National Guard.

Daines emphasized his personal connection to military families, stating, "As the son of a U.S. Marine, I know firsthand the sacrifices that they and their families have made for our country. The last thing they should have to worry about is identity theft or fraud issues." He expressed pride in the Senate's approval of this measure, which he believes will benefit military families by offering them protection against financial threats.

The bill was introduced by Daines in April 2023 as part of efforts to ensure servicemembers are safeguarded from identity theft and related issues.
