U.S. Senator Steve Daines has expressed his support for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., President Trump's nominee for Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). During their discussion, Daines commended Kennedy's commitment to making HHS "the gold standard of science."

Daines highlighted the importance of Montana's agriculture-based economy and food supply during their conversation. He emphasized the state's role in producing high-quality crops and livestock, noting the significance of maintaining a safe food supply chain. "I share your view that protecting the integrity and safety of our food supply is of utmost importance," Daines stated.

Kennedy assured his commitment to working collaboratively with partners at USDA, federal agencies, and Montana farmers before implementing policies affecting the food supply. "I absolutely will make that commitment," Kennedy affirmed.

The dialogue also covered concerns about chemical abortions, specifically regarding mifepristone. Daines raised issues about FDA regulations related to this drug, questioning its safety measures. In response, Kennedy said, "President Trump has asked me to study the safety of mifepristone," adding that he would work with the committee on policy implementation.
