Registration has opened for the 45th Annual Ice Breaker Road Race in Great Falls, Montana, scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025. The event will take place from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and features routes through downtown Great Falls, along the River’s Edge Trail, and across the Missouri River.
Participants can choose from three races: a five-mile, three-mile, or one-mile course. Alternatively, they may opt to run all three. "Early Bird Registration is available until March 31st," with fees set at $25 per adult for the first race and $5 for each additional race. Youth registration costs $15. Starting April 1st, adult fees will rise to $35 and youth fees to $25.
Runners will receive a t-shirt, finisher’s medal, post-race refreshments provided by Pepsi, and entry into a door prize drawing. Top finishers in each age category stand to win cash prizes or gift cards donated by Scheels of Great Falls. Packet pickup is scheduled at the Great Falls Civic Center on Saturday, April 26th from 10 am to 3 pm and on race day starting at 9 am.
Registrations are accepted online or in-person at several locations including the Great Falls Park and Recreation office and the Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation Center. Additionally, those who miss Early Bird Registration can still sign up at Scheels on Saturday, April 12th from 10 am to 2 pm with Early Bird fees honored.

Volunteers are essential for ensuring the success of this event. Opportunities include assisting with packet pickup, street closures, post-race awards among other tasks. Volunteers receive a t-shirt and goody bag as appreciation for their efforts.
