The Great Falls Park and Recreation Department will release waterfowl back into Gibson Pond on Friday, April 18, at 10:30 am. This event follows the conclusion of winter care for the birds at an indoor facility at the north end of Gibson Park.
Before the waterfowl release, the Public Library will host a story time at 10:00 am. The session will feature "The Duck Never Blinks" by Alex Latimer, providing an engaging start to the day for families and children.
Park and Recreation staff have managed the care of the waterfowl throughout the winter, where the birds stayed in an indoor pond and were provided with daily nourishment. Even after their release into the pond, the staff continues to feed them daily.
Families are encouraged to attend, as the event is described as "always entertaining for kids of all ages." For more information, the Park and Recreation Department can be contacted at 771-1265.
