Great Falls, Montana – The annual Ice Breaker Road Race is set to take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025. This marks the 45th year of the event, which will be held in the downtown district of Great Falls, utilizing the River’s Edge Trail and the Missouri River. Participants have the option to choose from a five-mile, three-mile, or one-mile race, with the flexibility of entering all three events. The registration fee is $35 for adults and $25 for youth.
Each participant will receive a long sleeve race t-shirt, a finisher’s medal, items for post-race recovery provided by Pepsi, and an opportunity to win door prizes. The top finishers across different age categories will receive cash prizes or gift cards sponsored by Scheels of Great Falls. Packet pickup will occur at the Great Falls Civic Center on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or on race day starting at 9 a.m.
Officially registered runners will also receive a three-day guest pass to the Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation Center. Passes can be collected during packet pickup. Registrations can be completed online at the provided link, or in person at the Great Falls Park and Recreation office, as well as at the Scheels Aim High Big Sky Aquatic and Recreation Center.
Sponsors for this year's Ice Breaker Road Race include Benefis, Scheels of Great Falls, Pepsi, and NorthWestern Energy. Volunteers are being sought to ensure the smooth running of the event. Duties will include packet pickup assistance, managing street closures, and helping with post-race awards. Interested volunteers can sign up online, by phone, or via email.
