fire house | Meagher County & WSS City Fire
This afternoon at around 3:55 pm city and county fire were paged to a report of a trailer house on fire west of White Sulphur. Temperature was -5 with a windchill of -23. First units on scene found fire under the residence and fire interior in about half of the trailer, with fire coming through the front door and heavy smoke coming out of several windows. Before a crew could make entry, a window failed and the the the trailer flashed, and fire was coming out of all the windows, followed very shortly by a ceiling and roof collapse in front of the door. Firefighters changed to a defensive strategy with multiple lines, but unfortunately the residence was a complete loss. No injuries were reported in this incident.
The cause is thought to be a heater that was under the trailer to thaw frozen plumbing.
As fire crews were heading back to town from this call, they were paged to the hospital for a report of a possible explosion in the basement Responders searched the basement and found no issues. It was determined that a valve in the fire suppression system had malfunctioned, causing the noise.
As always, thank you to the fire volunteers that tirelessly respond to calls, and to the Ambulance for responding to provide medical coverage, and the Sheriffs office for their help.
