U.S. Senator Steve Daines issued a statement on the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks, reflecting on the lives lost and honoring those who responded to the crisis.

"Today we remember those who lost their lives in the worst terror attack ever experienced on American soil. We honor their families as well as the brave first responders who ran into the face of danger to protect their fellow Americans," Daines said.

He continued, "September 11, 2001, also reminds us that a nation united in the face of tragedy can overcome the worst form of evil. May we never forget the lives lost as well as the courage and sacrifice displayed by our fellow Americans."
